"Yeah, I kinda do." The honesty falls out of him uninhibited and while he briefly considers grimacing to make the words appear less serious, he ends up only nudging Jade's cheek with a light, open-mouthed kiss. As long as Jade's slumped against him, he can still indulge in the sweetness, he figures. Soak it all up while it lasts. It is strangely rejuvenating, even if the bruises seem to feel that way, too.

He gives one of the larger ones on his left thigh a quick rub, leaning back far enough to catch a glimpse of the familiar expression on Jade's face. Still high enough to dare a tease, Shinjirou pinches his cheek. Which is surprisingly fun. Biting his lips doesn't fully hide the grin. "I think I liked it." No, actually, he knows he did. Too weird to admit it out loud, however. And that's not because of Jade. Hearing himself say that he enjoyed something simple and nice, that's the part that doesn't make sense.

"So maybe I should say thanks?"
