The lake is an ancient place, dark and deep. Apparently it's some sort of tourist destination now, and Jade can see little vacation homes dotting the edge of the lake, pale smudges against the darkening twilight.
What does Heine thinks of these trespasses to his territory, he wonders? Does he resent these humans and their entrepreneurship, their never-ending desire to expand and tame every bit of wilderness they lay eyes on? Or does he see it as an opportunity - a veritable feast for that black lake of his?
Whatever the case, Jade is of the opinion that Heine has more than enough mortals to amuse himself with. He walks slowly along the lakeside, breathing in the clean, sweet air as the evening deepens around him. Heine must know he's here, but he hasn't shown himself yet; he seems determined to continue making a nuisance out of himself.
It's not until dusk falls that Jade finally speaks out. "It's not polite to leave a guest waiting, you know."

His mind is whirling. Eichel may suspect his true nature, but suspicion is quite different from actual confirmation. Right now, Jade isn't entirely sure what to do, so he resorts to what he does best: evading, stalling for time.
no subject
"He already saw." Heine looks Jonathan in the eye, bringing the temptations of the lake, cool water on a hot day, into his voice. "Come here."
The mortal takes a few steps forward, seemingly before he realizes what he's doing.
"Jade, this is... why did you ask me to come here again? And who is this?"
no subject
If this goes poorly, they might both lose Jonathan.
"I apologise for his behaviour," he continues smoothly. "I'm afraid he doesn't have the best sense of appropriateness."
He's still talking without saying much, continuing to stall for time. There's so many odd things about this situation - Heine's nudity, his collar, the talk of terms, not to mention Heine's commanding attitude... How does he present this in a way that wouldn't drive Jonathan off immediately?
no subject
"Heine." He already knows the mortal, but giving him a part of his true name will allow him very little power. Especially if he doesn't offer any other information while letting the awkward silence drag on until Jade breaks it.
no subject
(Which, to be fair, would be entirely correct. It's never a good idea to be caught between two fae.)
He has to stop him before that happens. An idea is slowly beginning to form, but it's rather outrageous, even by his standards. Oh well. He's never been one to be easily embarrassed.
"Heine and I have a proposition for you," he says, choosing his words carefully. "As you can see, Heine leads a rather...alternative lifestyle. We were wondering if you'd be interested in being part of that."
Most people will never realize just how "alternative" their lifestyles are, but he wonders if Jonathan is sharp enough to pick up on the double meaning in his words.
no subject
"What does 'being part of that' entail?" he asks. "I'm interested, but I'd like to know more first."
no subject
"It's simple, really. I'm interested in matters of power and control."
Heine's power lies in stillness, in the restful calm of his lake. Why not combat it with heat? Action? Jade isn't a particularly passionate creature - quite unlike his Unseelie kin - but he thinks he can pretend well enough. He has never really contemplated seduction as a method of holding sway over a mortal, but it seems to work well enough for some of the fae, so why not give it a try?
At the very least, it would make things interesting.
"Which do you prefer?" He asks, watching Jonathan intently. "Would you rather be the one in control, or the one submitting?"
no subject
"I'm used to being the one in control." He glances at Heine—and his collar, before speaking to Jade again. "So are you, I'd guess."
no subject
"Now, let's discuss the terms." He smiles at Heine this time, dagger-sharp. "Heine, are you willing to give us joint ownership over you?"
A bold thing to ask for, but if Heine insists on making things so difficult for him, Jade sees no reason not to repay the favour.
no subject
'Ownership'. Though he doesn't cross his arms, Heine's posture becomes markedly more guarded. "I'm not going to give you my lead."

"It would just be for tonight, if you didn't want it again." Without speaking Heine peers at Jonathan out of the corner of his eye, frowning. That isn't how it works.
"Whatever you're ready to give me," the mortal is saying. He walks closer slowly, making sure that Heine can see his approach. Raising one hand he touches Heine's jaw, smoothing the pad of his thumb over his skin. "I'll be gentle."
At this point Jonathan has been directed to believe that this is simply a strange sexual encounter and is acting accordingly. Heine thinks this might be a bad idea, but he's not opposed to sex, even with mortals. He turns his face into Jonathan's hand, almost nuzzling it, watching him slyly through his eyelashes.
"You can have control of Jade too," he murmurs. He smirks at Jonathan, not bothering to look at the other fae.
no subject
He watches Heine, tapping his fingers thoughtfully against his chin. It's strange to see him rubbing against Jonathan in such a manner, and equally strange to see Jonathan cup his cheek, thumb brushing tenderly across Heine's skin.
"Why not give him your lead, Heine? One night won't hurt."
Probably.

"Hold still," he tells Heine. He knows Heine must want to clip on the lead himself, but that's just too bad, isn't it? He had already chosen to give up control.
Swiftly, he clips the lead onto Heine's collar and gives it a light tug to test its sturdiness. This may not be Heine's actual lead, but it's still a lead, a symbol of control, and sometimes symbols can be every bit as powerful as the reality.
no subject
The click of the lead and the tug makes his eyes dart to the side. Heine sneers at Jade for a moment, then kisses Jonathan again. He smooths his hands over the man's chest, slender fingers trailing along his sides to touch his hips.
The lake welcomes those it desires. Heine wraps his arms around Jonathan, pressing the length of his body against him.
no subject
Jonathan makes soft, pleased noises against Heine's mouth, and Jade stirs slightly, but finds that he remains mostly unmoved. There's something fascinating about sex and power on a purely intellectual level, but Jade had always been interested in Jonathan's mind more than anything. He finds himself wondering what the clever mortal thinks of all this - does he know? Why take this sort of risk?
And then there's Heine. The memory of his sneer is so at odds with the way he touches Jonathan, it almost gives Jade pause. He gives Heine's lead another light tug just to irritate him.

Jonathan seems to enjoy being touched, Jade notes. The mortal wraps his fingers around Heine's. He's not violent, but his grip is firm as he directs Heine's touches. All the while, he never stops kissing Heine.
no subject
He can taste the mortal in the back of his throat. For now he can only imagine how rich Jonathan might taste if he began to consume him in earnest.
"Let's go somewhere more comfortable," Jonathan murmurs. He glances at Jade for direction.
no subject
He takes childish delight in tugging at the leash to pull Heine along, away from Jonathan. It's only a short walk to the bedroom, but Jonathan can't seem to keep his hands off Heine, one hand resting lightly on his back, watching him with rapt attention.
Should he be jealous? Oh well.
no subject
The bedroom. Heine looks at the bed, thinking somewhat longingly of his lake, before returning his attention to the matter at hand. The mortal is still touching him, hands gentle on his skin.
"I want you," he says, though it comes out flatter than he'd meant it to. Oh well. It's still true. And though Jonathan's brow furrows slightly at the strange tone, he brings them together to the bed.
"Join us, Jade," Jonathan is also saying. Heine glowers at Jade for a moment over Jonathan's shoulder.
no subject
"If you insist." His words may be less than enthusiastic, but he's smiling at Jonathan as he says it, although his smile turns sharper when he faces Heine. Leash still in hand, he climbs onto the bed. Jonathan kisses him, and Jade kisses him back, frowning a little as he tastes lake water lurking under the heady rush of Jonathan's power.
His frown hadn't gone unnoticed. "Something wrong?" Jonathan inquires, and Jade is quick to shake his head.
"No, nothing at all. I was simply thinking about something." Which is true enough. Jade is quick to continue: "Why don't you look after Heine for me? He seems to prefer your company."
The leash passes into Eichel's hands. Jade sits back to admire the sight: this may not be Heine's real leash, but it's still quite remarkable to see a human hold such a visible symbol of power over a fae.
no subject
"Would you lie down for me?"
A request and not an order. Heine fulfills it slowly, without verbal confirmation, laying himself out on the bed and pulling Jonathan down with him by the front of his shirt. With a smile the man kisses him again and Heine wraps his arms around his shoulders to draw him close.
no subject
Still, he's well aware there's only so long he can keep his distance without seeming suspicious. Jonathan glances at him as he kisses Heine, and Jade smiles at him, moving closer. His fingers ghost down the mortal's back.
He may as well join in fully. He moves behind Jonathan, wrapping his arms around him and pressing close, breathing in his power as he nips playfully at his ear. He can feel Jonathan's breath hitch before the mortal continues to kiss Heine, running his hands experimentally along the pale expanse of Heine's body.
